School is officially back in session and we are officially back to busy schedules, early mornings and plenty of homework!
Sam and Audrey started back first. Sam, in Ms. Tipton's third grade class and Audrey in Ms.Diamond's first grade class. One big change that we made this year was to start having them take the bus to school in the morning. In the past it has just come way too early for us to even consider trying to make it but this year the bus stop changed and is practically in front of our house! We decided to give it a trial run and it has been great! The kids really seem to enjoy it and Keith is relieved not to have to sit in the morning drop-off traffic anymore.
Both Sam and Audrey have had a great first month back and are loving their new teachers. Homework does us in some afternoons but we are getting it done none-the-less. Sam continues to excel at reading and just this past week took a 5th grade AR (accelerated reading) test and received 100%! Audrey's reading is really coming along and we hope for her to share Sam's passion for reading by the end of this year. The social scene however, continues to be her favorite part!

Our little Benny had to wait an extra 2 weeks after Sam and Audrey started but he finally was able to start going to school too! He goes to a little preschool in a Presbyterian church just a few minutes from our home. He goes on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-2 and is loving it so far. He loves that he gets to carry a back pack and he got a new firetruck lunch box that he loves too. His teachers are Ms Amy and Ms. Janeen and I'm sure he keeps them on their toes everyday!
