This post has been a long time coming, and it's still really only partial but for now, it will have to do. I would like to introduce to you, our new home!
Keith and I had been considering a move for quite a while, almost 2 years to be exact. We loved our old home but just felt that it was lacking a few things that we could really use. Namely some more storage and a little more space. It's amazing how quickly 2 adults and 3 children can fill up a house! We didn't want a drastic move, just something close where the kids could stay in the same school. We've had our eye on the Terra Bella neighborhood forever and it felt like the right choice for us.
After one failed attempt, we found another that we loved even more and moved quickly to make it ours. Unfortunately, the bank that held the homes current mortgage had different ideas. We sold our old home with alarming speed, a great blessing but also a bit of a problem. Our future home was a short sale and we learned firsthand what a pain those can be. Reluctantly we agreed to rent the home from the current owners and wait out the banks decision. A very risky move but we were desperate for a place to live so we held our breath and moved in in the middle of March.
We held off unpacking whatever we could while our fate was up in the air and waited, and waited. It felt like forever! Thankfully, 5 weeks after we moved in, we were able to close and it was finally our house! What a relief.
We are slowly unpacking the rest and making plans to repaint some of the questionable paint choices upstairs (poor Ben can only be forced to live in a bright pink room for so long) but it is coming along. I started to hang a few pictures last week and it is already starting to feel more like home. I have taken a few pictures of the areas that were together enough to show. More pictures will came as we get some paint on the walls. I'll try to remember to take some before shots so you can see just how ugly some of the paint is. I'm talking neon green. Truly hideous. However, all in all the house is beautiful and we feel so blessed that it is ours!
