Up and Running!

Soccer season has arrived.

After taking last season off so Sam could re-evaluate weather or not he wanted to continue, we're back and have another player. Audrey has wanted to play for a while now and I just couldn't put it off any longer.

Apparently, Audrey had been paying very close attention at her big brother's games these past few years. She was a little timid at her first practice but as soon as she was in game mode, she couldn't be stopped. She scored 7 goals in her very first game! Not bad for being one of the smallest on her team. She really fought hard to get the ball and once she got it she took it straight to the goal, with her tongue sticking out in fierce concentration the whole way. Once she got it there, she would merrily skip back to the center of the field, ready for the next kick off. It was precious. After the game, Audrey's coach said that her nickname should be "The Quiet Assassin." I love it.

Go Lava Girls!

Sam had a game later that day and it was his first on the BIG field. He did great. This is his first season where they play positions and have a goalie so it was all new to him. He really worked hard to keep up with the ball and was a great defender. He even got to be the goalie for a while in his second game. I think that he liked this position the best because he didn't have to run.

Go Sharks!

Here is a quick video of one of Audrey's goals. Listen for Ben yelling, "GO" in the background. He had a lot of fun too.
